Client: Metador
Agency: Koala
Creative Director: James Rees
Role: Director / DOP / Editor
I worked as Director and Director of Photography on Your Journey with Metador, a corporate film created for North East steel door manufacturer Metador. We produced the project in collaboration with creative agency Koala.
The film follows the complete customer journey, from the first enquiry to the delivery of the finished product. However, the story focuses on more than manufacturing alone. It also introduces the people, specialist knowledge and careful processes behind every Metador order.
Industrial filming in the North East
We filmed across Metador’s offices and manufacturing facilities in the North East. This allowed us to follow each stage of the process, including customer service, sales, design, engineering and production.
Visually, I wanted the film to feel polished while still presenting the company and its employees authentically. Wider shots established the scale of the facilities. Meanwhile, close-up details highlighted the precision involved in manufacturing specialist steel doors.
Controlled camera movement helped connect the different departments and stages of production. In addition, carefully planned lighting created consistent images across the offices, workshops and factory floor.
Corporate cinematography and direction
As Director and DOP, I planned the visual approach and directed the filming on location. I also worked with the team to capture natural interactions, manufacturing footage and the details needed to explain the customer journey clearly.
The completed film gives prospective customers an accessible view of how the company operates. As a result, it helps demonstrate the expertise, teamwork and attention to detail behind Metador’s products.
