Bet365 Jürgen Klopp Football Film

Bet365 – Jürgen Klopp is a branded football film exploring the influence Jürgen Klopp had on Liverpool FC, its supporters and the wider city. Through contributor interviews and location footage, the film reflects on the optimism surrounding his appointment and the belief he inspired during his time at the club.

The story revisits defining moments, including Liverpool’s comeback against Barcelona and the long-awaited Premier League title. As a result, the finished piece combines football history with personal memories from people closely connected to the city and its fan culture.

I worked as Director of Photography, filming interviews and Liverpool location material for director Conor O’Donovan and sports marketing agency 53Six.

Director of Photography in Liverpool

The visual approach needed to feel cinematic while allowing contributors to speak naturally. Therefore, I planned the interview compositions, lighting and camera positions to support honest, conversational performances without distracting from their memories.

In addition, we captured coverage around Liverpool, including recognisable landmarks and street art. These details gave the edit a strong sense of place and connected the discussion of Klopp’s impact to the city in which that story unfolded.

My experience providing Director of Photography services helped the production move efficiently between controlled interviews and responsive location filming.

Sony FX9 Branded Content Cinematography

I captured the principal photography on the Sony FX9. Its full-frame sensor and built-in variable ND made it a flexible choice for moving between indoor interviews and changing exterior conditions around Liverpool.

Meanwhile, the camera package allowed us to create polished compositions while remaining mobile enough to gather visual details across the city. The resulting footage combined a clean branded-content finish with the immediacy needed for a film driven by genuine supporter perspectives.

You can see further examples of my lighting and framing approach on the interview examples page.

Sports Branded Content Production

53Six produced the film for Bet365, bringing specialist sports-marketing experience to the project. Consequently, the production needed to understand both the brand’s audience and the emotional connection between Liverpool supporters, their club and its manager.

That balance helped keep the contributor stories at the centre of the film while delivering a focused piece of sports branded content. It also gave the finished edit a clear identity rooted in football, place and personal experience.
