ENGIE X Engineering — Dinorwig Director of Photography
I worked as Director of Photography and drone operator on ENGIE X Engineering, an eight-part film series documenting the £1 billion replanting programme at Dinorwig pumped-storage power station in North Wales.
Filming inside the Electric Mountain
The series takes viewers behind the scenes at one of Europe’s largest pumped-storage facilities, covering the delivery and installation of giant valves, the draining and inspection of the station’s underground tunnels, switchgear replacement, work on the upper reservoir and the people responsible for keeping the site operating.
My role combined cinematography on location with drone filming around the Dinorwig site. The work included interview-led sequences, engineering activity, restricted underground spaces and aerial views that help communicate the scale of the power station and surrounding landscape.
