S&W Meets ICD Europe
I worked as Director of Photography and Camera Operator on the S&W business awards film, a social-first video campaign produced during the International Trade Awards in Manchester.
The concept placed business leaders inside four custom S&W-branded taxis. During each journey, the hosts spoke with their guests about international growth, business challenges and future plans.
Filming interviews inside moving vehicles presented several creative and technical challenges. Space was limited, the available light changed constantly and every conversation needed clear, dependable sound. Therefore, we created a compact camera setup that captured polished content without disrupting the natural flow of each interview.
S&W Business Awards Film in Manchester
I led the camera unit in one of the branded taxis, filming several interviews as we travelled through Manchester. The moving location helped each conversation feel relaxed and spontaneous. It also gave the campaign a strong connection to the city.
We used the Sony FX3 with a Sony 24–70mm f/2.8 GM II lens as the principal camera. Its compact body made it ideal for filming inside the taxi while still delivering detailed 4K images.
A GoPro HERO13 provided a wide safety angle. This additional perspective maintained continuous coverage and gave the editor more flexibility when shaping each conversation.
Social-first event content
We recorded the S&W business awards film in 4K DCI, providing enough resolution to crop and reframe the footage for different social formats. Manchester street scenes, landmarks and atmospheric footage added pace and context to the finished films.
The campaign was created for LinkedIn, websites and other digital channels. As a result, each interview became a concise piece of content that extended the reach of the awards beyond the event itself.
The project demonstrates how a compact crew and carefully selected camera equipment can create professional branded content in a challenging location. It also shows how event filming can capture more than conventional highlights by turning conversations with attendees into useful standalone content.
